The “Fake News” phenomenon propagates and challenges trust in information. The problem has reached such a level that the European Commission has launched a public consultation this November. Searching for ways to tackle this, EDF has initiated the experimental certification of all their Press Releases using the KeeeX technology.

Starting from November the 15th 2017, these documents are equipped with a unique set of digital signatures allowing for proving the file integrity, the author’s identity, and a publishing date. The recipients may thus verify that these PRs indeed stem from EDF by just using the service at http://medias.edf.com and a simple drag.

KeeeX is proud to collaborate with EDF on this pioneering project. This experimentation combines two technologies that address digital trust :

  •  the KeeeX technology lets any file be secured and valued by seamlessly injecting proofs of integrity, authorship, legal timestamps, tags, chaining to other files… Builtin file trust !
  •   the Blockchain technology allows for warranting the existence of a file at a given date. The blockchain can be perceived as an unforgeable replicated registry that can be used to record forever the fingerprints of files

Laurent Henocque, owner and CEO of KeeeX : « We are proud and happy with this trial by EDF to demonstrates the huge potential of our technology. Fake news, fake documents, data leakage, users have an ever weaker trust in the digital. KeeeX was created to fight this situation. Our offer allows for injecting trust within files and make digital signature available to everybody. ! ».

Karl Minvielle, Responsable Sécurité SI & Patrimoine EDF – DSP : « We were willing to experiment the certification of our Press Releases together with a blockchain anchoring. KeeeX was the only startup to offer a solution that was “off the shelf”, mature, fully operational and ready to deploy without intervention of our IT department. In tight and positive relationship with KeeeX, we could put KeeeX PR in production for our use case in a snap. Considering the fast acceptance of KeeeX by our users and the yet unexplored potential, I anticipate a bright future for this solution within EDF. »
